Simplicity
and clarity are my goals.
I look
with awe at nature, but I accept the demanding restrictions of the pictorial
field. Working simultaneously with positive and negative shapes...and placing
equal importance on both...I achieve a vibrant piece of work in its forms and
colors. They interweave with each other with order and equilibrium.
Shapes
and colors do not necessarily have to match what I see, but their relationship
within the canvas. This relationship consists largely of the modification of
colors, forms and values around each other so that the painting will be
completed with order and harmony derived from the initial chaos.
I draw
and paint with color using the entire surface of the canvas. As the work
progresses the boldness transforms itself into more subtle shapes and color.
My
work is abstract-representational, bringing components of the painting
together rather than
merely
copying from nature.
The
finished product is simplicity and clarity.
Figures:
Abstracted figures. My interest is in the
feeling “...it is, it is not…”. This is the
reason
why they are so ambiguous.
